At least four people were killed and five injured as a bus collided head-on with a three-wheeler on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Gazipur Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as Nure Alam, 40, of Rangpur, Biswajit, 28, of Manikganj and, Faruk, 35, and Suman, 30, both hailed from Mymensingh.
Three passengers of the three-wheeler (tempo) died on the spot and six others were injured critically, said Iqbal Hossain, a police surgeon of Naojor Highway Police Station.
Among the injured, Suman succumbed to injuries at Gazipur Sadar Hospital, reports our Gazipur correspondent quoting the police official.
Three of the five injured were identified as Nil Kamal Gosh, 35, of Tangail and, Sohel Mia, 22, and Al Amin, 30, both hailed from Mymensingh.
The accident took place when a Mymensingh-bound bus hit the tempo in Naojor area of the Sadar upazila around 9:00am, the police official said.
